| 1. A system comprising:
an engine operable to produce exhaust gas;
an engine throttle operable for opening and closing;
a turbocharger operable to receive at least a portion of said exhaust gas;
an exhaust brake selectively operable to impede the exhaust gas from said turbocharger; and
a control system operable to delay application of said exhaust brake for a period of time following closing of said engine
throttle, wherein said period of time is a function of the rotational speed of the turbocharger immediately prior to closing
of said throttle.
