| 1. A liquid crystal display device comprising:
a liquid crystal panel performing picture display according to input visual data, said liquid crystal panel having a front
side that displays a front image and a rear side that displays a rear image;
a first lighting unit having a first light guide plate and a first light source supplying a light with the first light guide
plate, and located in the front side of the liquid crystal panel;
a second lighting unit having a second light guide plate and a second light source supplying a light with the second light
guide plate, and located in the rear side of the liquid crystal panel; and
a control unit for turning on the second light source of the second lighting unit and radiating the liquid crystal panel,
and supplying a first picture data to the liquid crystal panel, during a first display period, and turning on the first light
source of the first lighting unit and radiating the liquid crystal panel, and supplying a second picture data to the liquid
crystal panel, during a second display period different from the first display period, such that two different images can
selectively be formed simultaneously on the front side and on the rear side because of the different timing.
