1. An isolated nucleic acid encoding an IL-11 receptor α chain which comprises the amino acid sequence having at least 95% identity with SEQ ID NO: 5, wherein said amino acid sequence comprises Trp-Ser-Xaa-Trp-Ser (SEQ ID NO: 1) and wherein said IL-11 receptor α a chain binds to IL-11.
