1. Antimicrobial adhesive or coating material which contains as the antimicrobial component metallic silver particles, wherein the silver particles are formed of highly porous aggregates having an average grain size of between 1 μm and 20 μm, the aggregates are formed of primary particles with an average grain size between 10 nm and 150 nm, and the primary particles are connected together by sinter necks, and the silver particles are mixed with a liquid organic component.
